Christmas 2009

For the first time in 10 years Wes had Christmas Eve off. We had dinner with my mom and grandma before heading over to Freeport. Zac, Gracie, and Wyatt received a brand new trampoline on Christmas Eve from their Nana and Mama. Once in Freeport we dropped off our loot at Aunt Tina's and then headed over to grandma's for a little shut-eye (Wyatt thought it was time to party). The next morning was filled with fun! Santa left Zac and Gracie new bikes, and he conviently didn't put them together since we were traveling. Gerald and Tina had prepared a wonderful feast for the crowd and we stuffed ourselves until we were miserable. The whole weekend was really a blessing, it was nice to be around family. After church with Grandma and P-pa on Sunday we made our way back to Crawfordville.

Christmas with PaPa

On Friday night I celebrated Christmas with the girls, and then on Saturday I ran in the Jingle Bell Run while Wes and the kids saved us a spot for the parade. Sunday morning we had breakfast with our Sunday school class and that afternoon Papa, Ben, Victoria, Elijah, and Jacob came over. We ate deer ham, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls, and dump cake and followed that up with presents. It was a great time!

Winter Wiggle

Gracie had her first gymanstics performance for IGG (International Gold Gymnastics)on Saturday, December 12th. She completed a floor routine, as well as the bars, the vault, and the beam. Wes and I are very proud of how fast she has caught on after only three months of gymnastics. We can't wait to see how well she does in the spring. Much thanks goes out to her coaches Nina and Carrie.

Santa comes to Crawfordville!

Halloween 09

We started off our Halloween with a Hallelujah Festival at our church where the kids were able to play games and win lots of candy. Gracie and I both won a cake at the cake walk. After that it was trick or treat time! Zac chose to be a zombie, Gracie a witch, and Wyatt didn't have a choice so we made him Mickey Mouse. Once we trick or treated we decided it was time for some wings at Beef O'Brady's with the Rentz's.

ONE BUSY WEEK!

This week was red ribbon week at Zac and Gracie's school, "SAY NO TO DRUGS!" On Monday 1st - 5th grade had their awards assemblies. I was able to attend Zac's, he received ribbons for all A's, perfect attendance, and for being a super citizen. We also had Zac's last football game! On Friday the kids had a field day at school along with a party! The class pictures are from their parties. Now off to get Zac's zombie costume together!

Report card time!

On Friday the kids brought home their report cards! Zac had all A's and E's! He is really enjoying reading this year, which is awesome. Gracie had mostly E's with two S's! Her S's were very close to E's and she has worked really hard! She really loves school! We are proud of both of them.

Pumpkins, candied apples, and the huntn' camp!

On Saturday we went to Hawg Heaven huntn' camp to meet up with PaPa and my stepbrother and his family. They have lived in Alabama for the last two years and it was nice to catch up with them. We carved pumpkins, candied apples, and ate some great food that Papa cooked up for us. We had smoked chickens, pork loin, and backstrap. Zac and Gracie got to spend the night with their Papa and go huntn Sunday morning while Wes, Wyatt, and I came on home for church.

Football and more football!

On Friday night we met a lot of friends at the War Eagle football game. The night was full of snocones, spilled snocones, the War Eagle fight song, and plenty of touchdowns (for the Eagles that is). On Saturday morning we went out to the rec park for Zac's flag football game. Quotes from Zac, "I play safety and I keep my eye on the ball. I try to rush the quarterback a lot." Zac's team played a lot better this time, we are hoping for our first win this weekend!

Freeport and fencing!

On Saturday we were out of the house before nine to head to Freeport. While the fence was being built I got to spend some time with the ladies and Jake (you know he can't stay out of the kitchen). Grandma had an endless supply of fried chicken and Jake whipped up a one of his new recipes. Tina, Hester, and I took the big kids down to the creek while Grandma put Wyatt down for a nap. It was cute watching Wyatt love on Joe, it's like he knows that Joe is little too.

Zac's 8th Birthday Party!

Zac had a sleep over this year! We had 10 kids at the party (counting our own 2) and then we had 7 kids that night for the sleepover. The kids played the donut game, you have to eat a donut from a fishing pole string without using your hands. It was hilarious! We also had an egg relay, Zac loves this game. After cake and icecream the kids bombed each other with water balloons and then it was movie time. They were all great and everyone was out by 12:15.

Happy Birthday Smokey the Bear!

The Museum of Natural History was free along with cake and hotdogs in celebration of Smokey's birthday.

The school bell is ringing again!

In our county teachers had to go back on August 6th and students followed in on August 13th. Wakulla is one of the top 10 districts in the State of Florida, so we get to ignore the "Save Our Summers" law. Zac is now in 2nd grade and Gracie started kindergarten this year. Gracie was really excited about the first day of school, but Zac would have rather slept in! I can't believe how fast kids really do grow up. Gracie has Jacob Cardoza in her class (how cool, they were born 3 hours a part and now they sit next to each other in kindergarten). Gracie is also in class with my friend Haley's daughter Madison(Haley and I went to elementary school together). Zac and Gracie catch the bus from my school, so they have to get up pretty early. It's cute to see all of the teachers' kids together. Our wonderful friend and tech lady Molly sees that they all get safely on the bus.

Our last Wakulla Springs trip of summer break :(

We met up with a lot of friends over the summer at Wakulla Springs. It was great! The hardest part of the summer was dodging the Florida showers! Zac now jumps off of the bottom tower and Brandon and Sydney braved the top tower. Heck I jumped from the top for the first time in years, I had forgotten how fun/scary it is. The water is so cold, but it really is refreshing once you get in and get used to it. There is always a little shade available for those of us who prefer less exposure to the sun. You know it never really feels as hot at Wakulla Springs, very nice place to enjoy your picnic lunch.
