Our summer!
First of all, I want to thank all of our friends in Wakulla that partied with us until the end, you guys really showed us your love! Our summer began with a bang for sure! On June 2nd we packed up the last of our stuff and started out for Birmingham. Unfortunately Wes's fish did not survive and his plants took quite a beating. The Beards' were gracious enough to let my wild family of five live with them for TWO WEEKS! Could you imagine us at your house for two weeks? Gracie started gymnastics the first Monday we were in town, and how lucky we were to find a gym just 1.5 miles from our home. They are already talking about her joining the TOPS program. We started moving in to our new home on June 15th. Granny, Granda, P-pa, and Winter stopped in for a quick visit on their way home from West Virginia. Most of our summer days have been spent swimming at the Y, playing at the park, watching movies, and organizing our new house. For the week of 4th of July we were able to head to some bigger hills in Mentone, AL with the Beards to celebrate our Nation's birthday as well as Chance's 10th! Chris's Aunt Regina hosted us at her lake house for a cookout, swimming, and fireworks as well as for Chance's party the next day. Chris's parents Cindy and Wayne, and his Aunt Tracey and Uncle Scott made us an awesome brunch with yogurt parfaits, pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs and then for dinner we had grilled chicken, homemade mac-n-cheese, broccoli salad, and peach cobbler! We were really spoiled! We were able to see three fireworks celebrations from the dock at the lake. While in Mentone we drove over to Chattanooga and visited the aquariam and walked around the Chattanooga Choo-choo! A couple of weeks after that Zac had football camp at Spain Park High School and then practices started two weeks after that, it is definitely hard core here. The end of July brought us very special visitors, the Cardoza's!!! Man it was nice to hug friends that are like family. We met them in Atlanta and did Six Flags, then on Saturday we were pretty lazy except for a near 5 mile run at Veteran's Park. We took them to our new Mexican restuarant, but nothing beats good ol' El Jalisco in Crawfordville, FL. Of course we celebrated Tina's 30th :) that night as well with cake and icecream. Now school is in, pictures to come.
